Job Description

As a Host/Hostess you will work in a team-oriented, high-volume, fast-paced, environment to deliver the best dining experience to our guests by:

  • Greet guests upon arrival in a warm and gracious manner.
  • Answer phones and respond to guest inquiries in a pleasant and professional manner.
  • When possible, open the front door for guests entering or leaving the restaurant.
  • When immediate seating is limited, record guest names and number of people in party.
  • Call out name and number of party when tables become available.
  • Provide guests with estimated waiting time.
  • Accommodate special seating requests for guests whenever possible.
  • Seat guests based on guest preferences and balancing of customer flow in service stations.
  • Upon seating, offer guests a menu and inform them of their server’s name. Inspect table for proper presentation and completeness. 
  • Relay messages to servers and bus persons as needed.
  • Sincerely thanking guests as they leave and inviting them to return.
  • Receive and place Take Out Orders when applicable.
  • Accept guest payment, process credit card charges and make change (if applicable).
  • Operate Coat Check when applicable.
  • Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 months of customer service, retail sales, or food service experience preferred.
  • Ability to bend, twist, and stand to perform normal job functions.
  • Ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably with customers in English.
  • Must have exceptional grooming habits.
  • Have willingness to learn about beer and acquire Cicerone certifications.
  • Ability to bend, twist, and stand to perform normal job functions.
  • Possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money and operate a cash register.
